Kalbi on Fire is a food truck in the small town of Kahuku, Hawaii that specializes in Korean food, and specifically kalbi - which are beef short ribs. On the menu you can also order a couple of other different grilled meats as well, but I had to stick with what they are most famous for. I also got a scoop of rice, some macaroni salad, and a side of kimchi.
Like in all of Hawaii, Kalbi on Fire isn’t cheap. This meal was on the pricey side. The kalbi beef short ribs were a little on the sweet side, but they did taste extremely good and they were nice and tender - and along with the rice and macaroni salad, it was delicious.
When you pass through Kahuku in Hawaii, there are plenty of good food options like Kahuku Superette (http://migrationology.com/2012/04/hawaiian-poke-bowl-kahuku-superette/)'>http://migrationology.com/2012/04/hawaiian-poke-bowl-kahuku-superette/) and Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck (http://migrationology.com/2014/03/giovannis-shrimp-truck/),'>http://migrationology.com/2014/03/giovannis-shrimp-truck/), and Kalbi on Fire is another good option.

Honestly that’s a poor business decision to sell the kimchi on the side for $5. There’s no self respecting Korean restaurant that sells Kimchi for $5 side. I guess everything in Hawaii is a rip.
This looks so delicious I grew up on karlbi, bulgogi and kimchi love my Korean soul food
Man that looks dam good
