BANGKOK - LOS ANGELES - This is my first time traveling internationally on an airplane since before the pandemic began. We flew from Bangkok to Narita to Los Angeles on ANA (major Japan airlines) Business Class. So in this video Iโll give you a full flight review and tour, and mainly show you all the amazing Japanese food on the flights.
Our first flight was from Bangkok to Narita, Japan and it took about 5 hours. We were served an amazing Japanese food, more like a kaiseki meal. When I woke up from a nap, they came around and took our snack order - and they had a few things on their menu that you could order at any time. Something I was desperate to order was their Ippudo Ramen, a very well known Japanese ramen brand. Iโm happy to report the ramen was the best sky ramen Iโve ever had in my life, amazing.
One the second flight, it was from Bangkok to Los Angeles, USA and we were first served dinner. Dinner was a multicourse amazing kaiseki Japanese food meal, including appetizers, and the amazing main course of sukiyaki and salt cured mackerel. Then we were served breakfast, again a delicious Japanese food.
Food on ANA business class was fantastic, service was outstanding, and really great flights. Itโs an honor to have an opportunity to travel at this time, and to travel on business class on ANA.
Thank you so much for watching. And by the way, Iโll be in the United States for a little while, any suggestions about where to go in the US for the most amazing food experiences?
Thank you for watching and hope youโre having a great day!

Hey everyone good morning hope you're having an amazing day. It's mark wiens, i'm in bangkok, thailand, at suwanapum, international airport, and today we are flying from bangkok to los angeles in the u.s on a a which is japan's airline and it's going to be an honor because we are flying on business class. So in this video i'm going to give you a full review of the flight and especially show you all of the food that we eat i'll, show you everything we eat everything that were served. Oh wow, that is, the best bowl of sky ramen, full a a business class food review coming up, and i can't wait to share the journey and all of the food with you right now good morning, and it is a very very early good morning.
I think we woke up at 3 30 a.m to get to the airport, because our flight is at 7 a.m and then, to finish all the checks to check in. We wanted to make sure that we were here at the airport three hours early. Actually, we already finished checking in which all went smoothly, and this is where we begin our journey to la yeah wow. This is the state of the airport, never seen it this quiet this empty before.
In fact, i can't even see a single person, but most of the facilities are closed or renovating and hopefully preparing to reopen sometime soon. A shout out to all of the staff at the airport, who have been here this entire time and traveling has always been a privilege, but i just want to acknowledge, especially during this time what the situation is. It's a real privilege to have an opportunity to travel and to go back to where my family is in the u.s, we're on our way to the e-gates. Let's go: hi royal orchid lounge.
Let's go on a little tour here and definitely need some coffee coffee. Yes, all right, dr coffee, thank you which is a steamed, sticky rice with banana and usually yeah. It's filled with banana and black beans. Oh, it's warm i'll grab a soda water as well.
Ah, oh yeah need some coffee and then let's open up that kapamat the sticky rice banana. It's really warm and steamed, it's quite sticky and gooey from that coconut milk. Oh yeah, you immediately smell the fragrance of the of the coconut milk, like a look at that. It smells pretty good huh.
Oh, it's awesome, really gooey almost to the point of pudding and then the sweetness of the ripe banana on the inside. The contrast of that sweet richness must be followed by coffee to make it the perfect harmony, good job thai airways. On the cup of mud, they do have some dishes that you can order and they'll cook for you in the back and then bring them out, like stir, fried chicken with basil, panca, pao and also thai chicken biryani i'll have kapow, please, okay, i serve you at The sea, okay, thank you very much cub! They serve it to you extremely hot, oh yeah. I could got a little bit of a basil steam bath, never miss the opportunity to have one last pad before leaving thailand.
Oh it's uh! There's a few fried basil leaves on top as well. I mean not the best kapow you'll ever have, but it is pretty tasty. Oh, i taste a little bit of pepper in there too yeah. Oh, i mean it's kind of mild in flavor to cater to everyone. Making it a a great 5 a.m - panca-pao, it's actually quite tasty, i'm enjoying it fully. You have to speed up just walk as fast as you can. All the joys of having a four-year-old are trying to burn a little energy on the way to the gate. Micah.
You can only walk, speed walking. We would now like to invite passenger group number two. We need to see him at this here we go. Thank you.
Thank you. Okay, here we are for c whoa whoa. Is that your own? What is this? Is this your own seat cover your own seat cover? Oh, that's! That is very nice! Oh, it's almost like a massage, oh nice and the a a staff have said that, of course, it's already cleaned already, but just some extra assurance. Okay, i think that's that's good and additionally, they've already served some sparkling and it is now 6 51 plain leaves at 7 00 a.m.
It's gon na be a five hour 41 minute flight to tokyo, i'm not sure if they maybe they're gon na serve us breakfast uh, but i'll see you for the next meal you're getting ready to serve breakfast. You can choose between the international option or the japanese breakfast. I got the japanese breakfast. Thank you very much.
Okay. Thank you very much. This is a straight up. Gourmet, japanese breakfast amazing, almost like kaseki style, and then i also got green tea and then also this one should be the miso soup, maybe start with this cold section tomato.
Oh, it's smoky, oh yeah, that's a great tomato next dish is some egg. I think i think this is egg or tofu. It's tofu actually just kind of melts in your mouth and i have flown a a a number of times before the food has always been great. Is it called burdock? Oh, i love it.
It's a little bit of a sweet glaze on it, but i love steamed fish and just the as an amazing texture, slightly squeaks, between your teeth and i always look forward to japanese rice. I thought it was going to be eggplant. Oh totally, surprising. That's a radish! Very crisp very crisp, almost chewy and really spooky.
Oh, that's delicious all the green onions in there so and that completes an excellent breakfast. I think we have about four hours left to go on this flight uh until we land in tokyo in narita. I got a good little bit of a nap in at least for an hour, and then they turned on the the lights, and then they took a snack order and i've been i've been waiting to try the ram and the ipod ramen, which ramen is a very Well known, japanese ramen brand, oh man, this smells and looks incredible. Oh there's nothing! I would rather eat right now than a hot bowl of ramen and this is miso ramen.
I think this might be my first ever bowl of ramen on an airplane. Oh wow, paul. The noodles are chewy the miso, the butteriness of the broth. That's superb, i'm actually impressed that is extraordinarily tasty. I love the corn in there, making it a little bit sweet along with that cabbage and the scallions, and it's perfectly rich and buttery for my taste, but they even serve you a little extra butter if you so desire. If you like, i know i know in japan, i've seen that where they give you some extra butter, if you want to add it to your broth, to even make it more rich and thick, that is the best bowl of sky ramen foreign all went smoothly passed Through security and then just through the you just submit an attestation form, is that how you say and walking on the way to the next gate 55. and welcome to flight number two? I think this is actually oh yeah. It is the exact same airplane, a boeing 787, just looking at the the time to get to l.a from narita to l.a.
I thought it was going to be a bit longer, but it's just nine hours and eight minutes so they're getting ready to serve dinner. But first a drink and some small little snacks, quiche and a little salad of tomatoes and olives and cheese and the sun is just going now we're seeing a really nice actually a really nice sunset. But the unique thing or the funny thing is that we left bangkok at 7. 00 am this morning and then we'll arrive in la at 11am, the same day.
That's just four hours later, and yet the whole journey took something like 22 hours. First courses and the appetizers are here and again wow. This is beautiful. This is a straight-up kasiki.
Ah, there's a salmon dish, there's some kind of cold salad with eggplant and then there's the whole japanese arrangement of little pickles and even that's uni sea urchin and we're getting a little bit of turbulence right now going for that uni and tofu with wasabi whoa. Oh, that's a type of uh bean curd. It's really stretchy almost like mozzarella cheese. Oh yes, yeah, salad with salmon good, but i think i should have added some of that soy sauce to it with the soy sauce for the next dish.
There's eggplant there's shrimp and there's pumpkin, i'm not sure what that puree is at the bottom there, the bright, yellow like a bright, yellow, puree. Oh that's, juicy tastes like corn. I think that's a almost like a cream of corn that looks like the perfect tomato. It's so tart and sour and almost has a an onion taste to it.
Oh, thank you very much hot fresh, japanese rice and i think it's some type of beef sukiyaki with some tofu and some leeks and then also a piece of mackerel and some pickles and miso soup. And what i love about the food is they serve it. So hot i opened that rice and it just poofed all to eat it with some of this sukiyaki and the pickles is going to be it's going to be so good a little bit of that ginger on there. Oh wow.
Yes, that's just pure comfort food. It just kind of melts in your mouth, but it's sort of a little bit chewy and the mackerel wow. It has this almost spongy texture to it, and then it's salt and cured you just taste that salty umami all the way through the center. It's not dry in temperature, it's really moist and spongy. So for dessert they had a few things that you could choose from, but i'm not hugely into dessert. So i just i'm happy with fruit, cold, fruit, grapefruit or orange, and that completes a fantastic dinner. So i'm gon na call it a night right here. Right now get some rest, and i will see you in the morning or well in a few hours for the next meal, which i think it will be breakfast good morning.
It's less than two hours before we land and we're gon na be served breakfast now to turn on the lights. Gon na be served breakfast now and starting with some drinks. I wanted to try the tomato juice because we had that a tomato earlier, which was delicious and had a big section about the tomato juice in the menu. Oh yeah, i used to not really like tomato juice.
I think i really like it now so tart and thick it's almost a milkshake of just pureed tomato. That is excellent and then we've got some. This is a matcha tea blend and then, once again i chose the japanese breakfast might as well. Keep it japanese food on a a because it's really good.
This is mainly a piece of fish under here with some vegetables. Oh, it's very, very soft fish. It's really hot! Oh yeah! That's great! Though the fish just melts in your mouth, really soft tender fish, just kind of melts into the gravy, with a nice gravy sauce to coat the rice and for the side, vegetable on top, i believe, is the the sticky yam along with some mushrooms as well. Oh, that has a really sour taste with almost a pickly briny taste to it, and then it's smoky and gooey.
At the same time, the gooey stickiness from that yam ginger, oh yeah, oh wow. I love pickled ginger, so one more hour left and welcome to los angeles wow. I've never seen this terminal so quiet. Normally, it's just filled with people.
You walk down that hallway coming out from uh customs and then it's just filled with people and welcome back to los angeles by the way, and so that completes this video about the food review of a airlines. I hope you enjoyed it.
