KRABI, THAILAND - Welcome to the southern Thailand province in Krabi! Today we’re heading to the Laem Sak Community, a community tourism initiative where they harvest and grow fish, lobsters, and local seaweed. You can go to get your own seafood and they can cook it at the community kitchen. Get ready for a giant tiger grouper fresh fish (not wild, but farmed), local lobsters, and amazing grape seaweed!
First, we headed on a boat through the beautiful bays and mountain rock landscape to a fisherman within a cove who raises and grows seafood and seaweed. Although at first I thought we’d mostly be getting local lobsters, he said he had a grouper today, and so we quickly changed our plan and decided on a menu from the 6.5 kg. giant grouper and lobsters, and seaweed.
With the fresh seafood, we headed back to the Laem Sak community where they cooked an amazing Southern Thai food meal!
Thank you for watching and hope you’re having a fantastic day!

That grouper reminds me of Japanese Kue, aka phantom grouper. One of the most treasured seafood in the country. I have lived in Japan for over 20 years now, but never have had the chance to taste it. Awesome.
Ok.. just out of curiosity from someone who is ignorant to the species there, from fishing in belize this looks nothing like what the tiger grouper there but more like a brown marbled grouper after I looked it up. Can anyone clear this up for me please? The tiger grouper where I was almost looked like a redhind with stripes and lacking the black fin edges but rather looked like the whole fin was black. I am not trying to call anything out and act like I am an expert so.. Anyone know..?

Hi Mark, you are definitely one gutsy guy to try so many different cuisines and eating things totally out of the box for me. Very entertaining:)
Mark, is there a hard stop on something you just will not try? I enjoy these videos so much. Your spirit and openness to the different cuisines.
I thought he was having a seizure after that first bite of the fish..
Your descriptions of he views to food are always awesome! You educate all on proper pronunciations in each country! Then describe each ingredient perfectly! However, your caring spirit and kindnesses are always the key to everyone appreciating the hard work to obtain the ingredients and the proper preparation of each ingredient! TY for sharing your thoughts
