Thank you all for the suggestions for things to eat in Manila, really helpful! Unfortunately, my camera died in the middle of our trip, and I haven't been able to record nearly as much local food and culture as I wanted to. For the first week in the Philippines I was at nicer end hotels and restaurant, but the second week I was going to really try to cover the local food in Manila, but that's when my camera died. So there will be some videos from Philippines coming soon, but not as much as I wanted to publish. I hope to plan to come back as soon as possible. So sorry, and thank you all for the suggestions.

Hello again Mark! I don't know if you are still in Manila, and if you are, here are a few more suggestions. The best Lechon is LYDIA'S in Baclaran ( lechon stuffed with paella ) The best all filipino lunch buffet is GUEVARRA'S. Did you go to Binondo? to see the oldest Chinatown in the world? Check out the oldest restaurant there called ILANG ILANG, and try their house special. Did you go to Maginhawa Food Strip of restaurants? Check out a place called ULO, they serve Salmon Head Sinegang Soup. Enjoy!

see if you can take part in a pig roast. my daughter in law is from Borongan, Eastern Samar, and my son was asked by his wife's relatives to take part in the pig despatch and roasting. He politely declined to kill it but said the pork was delicious!

You should try the Spiral buffet at Sofitel. I feel like you'll get the best variety for your money. Also you could try places in Makati like Your Local or Gino's Brick oven Pizza. Hope you're still here to enjoy!
